Leading into last year, emerging markets had endured five long years in the wilderness, contending with a toxic combination of China’s economic slowdown and rebalancing, falling commodity prices, global deflation, as well as slower global growth and trade. Yet the end of 2016 saw a significant shift, with emerging markets enjoying strong returns and outperforming developed markets for the first time since 2012 – outperformance that has continued into 2017.
Register for a live update on Tuesday 23 May where Ewan Thompson, Head of Emerging Market Equities, Kunal Desai, Head of Indian Equities, and Thomas Smith, Head of Latin American Equities, will discuss the turnaround in emerging markets and the investment opportunities that they are focusing on.
